I think I"ve pretty much figured out the difference between a Path I, Path II vs Path 111 - I"M still in a fog over PowerPath and whether it has any DX32 involvement. I think I understand that the S, SD (Path or PAth II) or S vs SL (Path III) exlpain other addons such as tool post, bar feed etc. I just don't know which has what and/or what else the suffixes stand for. Does anyone have a simple "decoder ring" which has the various features categorized in a clear simple fashion - especially with regard to S vs SD or S vs SL..Perhaps scanned brochures?? Found a PDF press release on the III but it has a lot of smoke and mirrors but no charts, pictures or sales info. Reason: looking for the ability to add on "tombstone" or 4 positoin turret tool post and pheumatic chuck. I know that it is easier to have the capabilty built into the software from get go than to try to get it added on - especially with regard to the DX32 software package that runs these machines. |

| EZpath 1: Geared head. BMDC, auf board. no options. EZPATH2: CSS spindle drive, 2 gears in head. They used a manual turret on it as a option. 2nd generation had the CIB with a flash card, then disk on a chip then a disk on a module, half size all in one mother board, and a GPAUF. The GPAUF allows the installation of a electric turret, bar feeder, etc. This includes the EZPATH SD and SL series 2 and 3. I have not seen any such option put on a EZPATH1S. The POWER PATH had a control similar to the DX32 2nd gen with IO boards such as the CIB VMC used, using a full size keyboard but using EZPATH software, CSS, hydraulic chuck, hydraulic turret, and could take options such as a bar feeder. Nutshell. George

| Thanks George. From what I"ve learned via my own research, there were Path, Path S and Paths SD - found pictures of each on sale in the USA. Ditto for 2, 2s and 2SD. Found a press release for 3S but no sign of a 3SL here in states Path and Path S should have DC servos. The Romi SD schematic and BOM (shows Path 1SD and 2, 2S and 2SD) that the Path SD had AC servos and likewise the capability of the 2S and 2SD with regard to chuck, turret and perhaps bar feed and parts handlers. I dunno if any were made but it looks like the software was/should have been configured to do/handle the options. I"m still cornfused about S versus SD and S vs SL. What did the D/L get you that wasn't on the non-D/L variants SImply put, which variant S, SD, S, SL could run an indexible tool turret and which variant also could accomodate an automatic/air chuck.Does any variant do both? BTW, PM me, a lot has transpired since we last talked.BTW< I"M this >< close to having what I need to do what I want to try to do. |
