you can interchange any two wires on a three phase motor, and it will only change the direction of rotation.
I am just now getting to the wiring of the used rotary converter that came with the old manual mills I bought last year. I've got it hooked up to my panel through a 30 Amp circuit breaker. The idler motor starts up just fine.
My problem is that the output legs are marked A B and C, but at the tool connection there wasn't any markings for me to determine which wire was A, B or C. Does it matter? I know which incoming legs are the two 120V legs and which one is the "wild" one, but I have no markings on the machine side.
One mill is a 63 Bridgeport and the other is a Champ Heavyweight, if that matters. Thanks for any insight.
