Smile Old SPS redone in VB

    Hello All,
This is my first post! I have written a program to emulate the old DOS based EZ SPS program for composing EZ trak programs. It has all the functions, including the viewer and full windows print support. Can even enter edit mode and preform text edits. I wrote it for my students to be able to write EZ trak pgm files at home that simulates the machine. I am willing to share it to see if anyone finds problems or has comments. Not sure how to make it available in this message forum. Anyone interestred in checking it out leave me a mesage.

What OS is it written for?
The original EZSPS could also post in G and M code but would not put in spindle speeds with a M03 which made it unsuitable for vertical machining centers. If you load a program into a EZTRAk in the run screen, press the minus key and you will see the translation done in the BMDC to G and M code.
There was also a EZSPS made for the EZPATH.
I do not know the legality of giving this out but you are not asking for payment still i wonder if the concept of the program is protected. Then again Microsoft stole the concept of pull down menus and a mouse from Apple and Apple lost in court.
Yes I would love to give it a whirl.
I will PM you with my email address. what size is the file?

    George

    Hi George,
Windows OS, with net 2.0. Students have ran this on XP and Vista. I am thinking about a linux build. The file size is 1.5mb so just a little to big for a 3.5" disk. I thought about the legal aspects and all my code is original and it is like a word processor so I think the concept is not any infringement. I take nothing from the original software just do the same thing a different way. And I am not making any money. I have written a few other CNC utilities for students to use in the M & G code classes and may share them as well. We will see how this goes. Let me know your e-mail and I will send you a copy.
    John
