SETTING UP TOOLING TC-22

I finally have my TC-22 setup and underpower.
I have purchased tool holders and pull studs and know would like if someone
would have the time to talk me through loading the tools in the carousel.
I know how to set TLO,s and etc, just want to make sure I load the carousel
correctly.
I have the manuals but don,t see it in there.

This is what I taught my customers because it was the safest way to go for a new owner.
With the carousel and spindle empty, go to STM, call up tool 1. Now put tool 1 into spindle. Touch off and save the TLO for tool 1.
Call up tool 2 with STM, tool 1 is stored into the carousel, the spindle is empty. Put tool 2 into the spindle, touch off, store TLO.
Repeat untill all the tools you need are loaded.

George.

STM is a Function key Speed Tool M-function.

Thanks George,
I will try that today.
Been busy on the series II getting caught up.
Haven,t had the time to learn the TC-22 yet.
Been playing around a little with it.
I want to get the work moved over into it.
Tired of cleaning chips up all over

I had a problem today with getting the mill to change tools.
The z axis would trip giving a following error when it would retract from the tool change.
the z axis will rapid + and - as fast as possible without a problem but today it would not make the tool change without faulting out.
I would have to reset the drives and rehome the carousel to get it going again.
I had the feed overide set down to 5%.I am not sure if the overide affects moves of this type.
I have had the machine change tools several times before without this problem.
This mill sat for a year before I got it so possibly the encoder is dirty?
Is it possible to clean this?

IF you go to STM and do a S0 M03 what spindle speed is displayed? If 2 or greater, your drift is off (balance of the spindle drive) and the spindle is drifting out of orient position during the tool change and faulting out. This is a spindle drive parameter that needs to be changed. Consult the maintenance manual.

George,
I checked it out today and the spindle reads 0 when programed o.
Machine ran tool changes fine with no problems today.
I wrote a small program with 2 tool changes to drill and tap a 3/8-16 hole and it ran the program fine above the part.
Will try an actual part tommorrow and see how all goes,
I did have a small problem with the drives when I first started the machine today.
I got a drive fault for a short time before they finally reset.
I think maybe I will pull and clean boards before I start using the machine alot.
The more I run it the better things get.
No limit switches sticking anymore.
The drive fault was a first today,it hasn,t done that before.
The machine will be perfect for what I need once I work out the bugs.
THANKS!!

Could someone tell me the correct wat to set tool lengths for the tc22?
I am trying to set them in reference to the spindle gage line.
On another machine the tlo,s were set from the end on the spindle
On it you would set the end of the spindle to z0 at the work surface,
then tool lenghts were in reference to this
The dx32 on the tc-22 seems to work from z axis home zero.
Do you home out the z axis then set z 0 there, then set tool lenths from there?
