    Machine Guard Open

    Bridgeport Interact 1 mark2 Heidenhain 151B control
When I try to run a program or start the spindle I get the message "MACHINE GUARD OPEN " . the problem is , there are no machine guards on the machine, is there a machine parameter for this or maybe a faulty contactor/ relay.

Thanks to anyone who can help

    Brian

It is a parameter. This control was used on machines with and without interlocked doors.
I have to get to my office and look at my notes. Do not know when time will allow that.
Do you not have the original parameter list?

I believe the attached list is from a 2500 control.

I don`t think it is a machine parameter.I would think this message comes from the plc and the reason for it is the plc is missing an input. If Brian has not been messing with the PLC programme or changed parameter 77,I would hazard a guess that the machine has had a guard at one time which has been shorted out but which has now failed.
I have parameter lists and plc programmes for a 155B which uses the same parameters but this machine had handwheels and a guard so not a lot of use.

    Machine guard open

First of all a BIG thankyou to everyone who replied
I found the original parameter list and can now reveal the fix.
I had been playing around with the parameters trying to fix a problem (which I still have ) with the uploading of programs from PC to machine.but not with downloading using Heidenhains program. so parameter 158 had been changed from a "1" to a "0" I changed it back to a "1" and all is well.
I hope this helps if it ever happens to someone else.
BTW MP92 changes language. MP 77 changes RAM to EPROM "1"
    Regards
