Hi Everyone I am new to CNC zone but not CNC. Looking at a Bridgeport Series 1 interact Mill for my shop. It has a Heidenhain TNC 145. Since my experience is largely with Roland CNC's and DeskCNC running on a retrofit Adcock Shipley 1ES I have some questions about the operation of this control. Firstly How much memory does the TNC 145 have for G Code? This may sound silly but I have read through the PDF's available on the Heidenhain web page and have not found what I am looking for. Obviously it is directly proportional to the size of the program I can run since I also read that "drip mode" was not an option on this control. Second was it ever an option to upgrade the memory? I have done quite alot of research into this machine and it looks quite well suited to my aplication. This is the only issue I have come across that I need to clear up. If anyone has this information or has a machine running the same control and wouldn't mind sharing their knowledge on this I would greatly appreciate it. PS SORRY IF THIS IS ON THE WRONG FORUM/ AREA I AM A NEW GUY HERE! Pierre |

While the 145 is a solid control, it does not take g code in any way, only heidenhain conversational. There is no way to increase its memory, and I am unsure if you can transfer blockwise on this control. I have many miles on a 145, but it has its limitations. It is also 2 1/2 axis control, so no 3 axis contouring. |
