I am going to ask what I think are obvious questions, but want to make sure I get it right Parameters, 11235 enter enter Machine Series (1) --- what are my options, how do I know for sure x max travel (30.0) --- this seems about right y max travel (12.0) --- also seems fair x offset (24729395.0) what the heck? y offset (26055426.0) yea, same thing?? X backlash (0.002) this is a number I just put in but would like to know how to check, adjust and verify. y Backlach (0.001) same question as the X x lead error (0.0004) this is also something I would like to KNOW how to check, set and verify y lead error (-0.0004) same question as X I had to re-load the system and since then I have been wondering if I have these right... the machine runs fine, but as with anything it could be a lot better if I did this correctly. I have had some issues with the "bugs" in version 6 but cant seem to get a copy of 8 anywhere. So for now I will work on tighening up the unit and dialing it in as best as I can Thanks for your time in helping me Ed |

| Dove tail ways = S1 Box ways = S2 S1 X travel = 30.0 inches, Y = 12.0 inches X and Y offset is distance from home to part program zero. This will change each time you set zero. Backlash is mechanical lost motion compensation. Always a positive value. Lead error compensation also known as pitch error compensation, is a correction factor for how the ball screw was ground. This can be a positive or negative value. Usually done at Bridgeport with a laser but can be done with a step gauge I have never seen a value greater than .0035 inches for backlash and lead error in a decently healthy machine. George
