I'll try to do the cliff notes version here.......... Machine was running good........ Did something stupid and pushed the hold button when it was making a rapid move......... Blew a transistor on the X.......replaced it and back up and running...... Now it is missing steps on both the X and Y when I run a program. Both axis move and act like they know what their suppose to be doing but I noticed it more in the X than than the Y. The program is a pretty simple arc move so both X Y are moving at the same time. It is a multiple cutting program where I'm taking 10 rough cuts and two finish cuts......during the program running, it hesitates the movement(not a smooth flowing move) and at that time is when it sounds like it is missing steps on the motors. Could it be possible I need to change more of the transistors? Do they go bad but still allow the axis to move just not where it is suppose to move too? The first transistor on the top is the one I pulled out and tested and it tested bad so that was the only one I replaced and put the (transistor Board?) back in and the X seemed to move the distance I told it to in set-up mode so I figured it was a done deal. Now the program loses it's X0Y0 during the running of the program and when finished it homes back no where close to where it was homed out at. But all of the read outs on the XY say it is at X0Y0. I think there may be another problem (a board?) now since both axis do not return to home when finished. Any suggestions greatly appreciated......... EDIT......I put an indicator on the X and Y and made moves in the set-up mode and it says it is moving the distance listed on the readout. Last edited by cnc Rookie; 05-29-2008 at 03:20 PM. |

| After further review, I have come to the conclusion that it is a posting problem and not the machine. I've run several test programs and all seem to work fine. For some reason the post processor is not spitting out the correct code. More work to do..........gotta love this stuff! |
