Greetings everyone, Bridgeport Newbie here! I have my Bridgeport running and have completed a couple of small projects. BUT I would like to add a power feed to the x-axis and have been looking at several on the web. I quickly discovered that there are 135, 140, and 150lbs. of torque rated power feeds. Question1, which would I need for my machine, and since each has a different cost, can anyone suggest the best place to find a good deal (best price) on one. I have read where some advertised have "no gear-replacement necessary" that may be a good thing, but is that the right thing I should consider? Any help would be appreciated! I have had a lyman powerfeed on the x axis for years. I bought it used and its a workhorse. I am thinking about getting a z axis powerdrive from www.cdcotools.com. The power feed is only $220, and the x,y $185. I purchased a co-axial indicator from them. It was only $50, and works and looks very fine. I will try the z feed as my left arm is tiring. I assume it is chinese, but then the others (grizzley) are also and they are twice the price. Don |
