Bridgeport Series I V2XT

how can I get a boot disc for this machine?

I bought it at auction and it worked fine but recently it wont boot up

Screen shows

Machine check..
Executive Load.. wait\c:\>_

Well I just had a similar experience with mine. Though mine was caused by a touching contact on the BMDC. I had removed my BMDC to 'work' with it and had bumped it. I'm guessing you've not removed yours so that's not likely your issue. Though it does show the BMDC is not loading the executive.

try removing the board and cleaning the ISA contacts with a soft pink eraser. It is worth doing a search on this forum for "BMDC" and "BMDC executive load" there are several threads discussing this issue and possible solutions.

I have posted my BOSS software on the Yahoo group site but I don't know if your Series I is the same as mine.

I also uploaded software to the V2XT YAHOO group.
But you have to use the right one.
Some machines had a FMDC. The newer ones have a BMDC. I posted pictures of both to that site also.
I would recommend a full set of DOS 6.20 diskd if you can use the latest BMDC version. The earlier BMDC software used DOS 5.0 and errors occured.
Other reasons for possible not loading the software is a corrupted file or the loss of CMOS settings (besides a bad connection of the BMDC in the ISA slot).
If you have a FMDC you can look at the status of the LED across the top of the board.
