Well I got my BP CNC up and running after a retrofit from the original electronics to mach3, gecko drives 203V and original superior stepper motors. I'm still a bit limited by the Z axis on speed to around 50 ipm. The x and y will do 120ipm. In the future I'll replace this motor as it's probably weak(demagnitized). By the way I salvaged around 60 lbs of copper out of this thing. At 2.85 $/lb that was rather nice. My methods of getting the copper from the transformers was: 1. toss in wood stove and the core falls apart, 2. sawsall and pound out wire bundle, 3. remove core with air impact hammer. #1 is the best..... |
