Axis Drive Off On Screen -Will Not Home

Have a EZ Trak Series II Mill, upon loading up the system comes up with a Drive fault error - system not home. Upon trying to home an error comes up "Axis Drive turn off"

    Current testing.

Green lights on amplifier Red lights go out.
    Checked fuses
    Checked E-Stop
    Checked Limits Switches
Checked Cables - Wires - Connectors
    Checked Power Supplies
Reseated Cards - Memory - Cleaned Contacts
    Cleaned Encoders
    Checked - Cleaned motor brushes
    Visual inspection of boards

Anyone have a suggestion to possible cause/problem, I'm currently at a dead end on any other posible testing to perform or possible things I've could of missed. Help Appreciated!

Turn machine on. Let it boot.
At that point the green LED on the drives are on. Are the RED also on? If so this is correct. X and Y handles should nove with no effort.
Press 3 to enable the drives. At this point the RED LED on the drives should go off and stay off. Do they?
If the RED LED are off, the drives are on. Try moving the X or Y handle. They should resist your effort. If so maybe the BMDC is not seeing that the drives are on. Check the fault lines back to the BMDC.

Also check mother board for damage around the area of the CMOS battery. Just a thought.

    Thanks Machintek - system running

    Thanks Machintek,

For your present and past postings.

Your posting on 06-02-2007 nailed it.

"lost your position loop. Typically a bad L1 inductor used as a fuse on the BMDC board."

I checked the L1 and L2 on BMDC board and found a bad 3/4 amp pico fuse (The L1 - L2 had been repaired before on the BMDC board)

    Thanks again,

    MTech2

Note: (Beleaved cause) Dust built up in the ATX power supply causing a voltage spike to the L1 L2 Inductor on the BMDC board.
