I have a 1980's vintage Bridgeport vertical mill. It has been the sole of reliability until recently. Lately, It has become very hard to bring the quill all the way up to the upper stop. I have lubricated frequently, but it doesn't seem to help. I use it all the time, so this is getting to be a real concern. I haven't changed anything on the machine (other than collets, of course) in a long time. Does anybody have any suggestions what is causing this and how to cure it? |

| I have had a few where the quill pinion shaft had galled in the brass bushing. Look at that. George
