EZPATH 1 with the SEM DC motors, not a EZPATH 1SD.
Check the belt for worn teeth, the pulleys that they are not sleeping, it could be a bad encoder cable, etc.

We have a problem with an EZ-Path I. We can't get the x-axis to repeat. It jumps .010 to .025 per cycle. Can any one help??

Waltrobertson,
If your machine has SEM DC motors, do not waste a lot of time diagnosing. I have a lot of machines with SEM motors and the encoder has always been the culprit for "Non-repeatability" . There is only one dealer in the USA, for getting parts. Google "Clarkson Company" near Chicago and talk to Steve. He has rebuilt five or six motors for me and he has always treated me well.
A new motor will cost $1200.00 and he can re-build with a new encoder, complete inspection of all internal parts, tested and out the door for $500.00 to $750.00. (depending on what was needed. The way it works: Send your old motor (without brackets and gear) to him. He will quote the repair and cost to you. If you appove with a P.O.#, He sends it back to you in perfect running condition. He has been the only dealer in the U.S.for 15 years, and he is the only place that stocks parts for these motors.
You will probably need to pay with a Credit Card for the first time, and then setup a charge account for future repairs. I trust him 100% and I have only ever spoke to him over the phone. If he is not real busy, it is normally and 4 day turn around from you shipping the motor out, til you recieve it back. I have also seen it take 7 - 10 days, unless you want to pay an expedite fee. Hope this helps!!
Just a good ol' boy, never meanin' no harm.
