Greetings, I am just trying to get an asking price on a BP series 2, the machine is in excellent shape you can still see the frosting on the chrome ways. I have retrofitted it with Automation Direct Sure Servos (1kw AC servos), and the 2 hp spindle motor is ran by a ADC GS2, all controlled by mach3. It has the quick change #30 chuck. The machine is in excellent shape, but I need more room for a larger machine. So, to Ebay, I go, just wanted to know what was the going price for a machine like this. scott |

| Sorry Scott, can`t help, but I have often wondered what one would fetch as there are quite a lot about now.I know of one in the UK that may be available soon and was discussing its` value with the owner just last week. My personal thoughts are that the selling price will not reflect the time and effort that has gone into the retrofit.Downside to me would be lack of documentation and unknown quality of components used.Additionally I have never seen one that has the quality of retrofit that would let you drop it on a shopfloor for production use by the average machine operator. Each machine is very much a one off and that alone would lower the value. Lot of idiots on Ebay though. At a guess I would say less than a Bridgeport with a Heidenhain 150. Mark. |

| Hi Scott, a week or two ago I would have said you were crazy to expect anything like that kind of money, however I was talking with Brett (Chaoticone) and he was talking of selling his retro. We looked at past sales on US ebay we saw all sorts of crazy (to me ) prices so maybe you are not being unrealistic. Over this side of the pond there is no way we would pay that kind of money for a CNC knee mill no matter what the control. Best bet is to do a search of past sales on eBay for knee mills and then put yours up for sale based on these prices or just put it on with a reserve of the minimum you would be willing to let it go for and see what happens..
