| Does anyone know if it is possible to use a new monitor with a BOSS 9. I can barely read the the one on mine, and I have been told that it is better than most. I looked at the connections hoping that it would be a simple plug in, but no such luck. I have an old RGB monitor and new monitors are easy to find, so I am hoping that it is just a wiring/cable deal Thanks ![]() Rich |

| If you can get at the monitor driver board mounted under the CRT, there are 6 or 7 circuit board mounted pots to adjust, I think they are: focus, brightness, horizontal and vertical size, vidio drive, contrast, and brightness. use a small plastic tip screwdriver, or I have used a quality wooden chopstick cut in half, with a wittled tip appropriate to engage these slotted pots. I've always been able to carfully tweek these while watching the CRC for improved preformance. Just be aware of the high voltage in the enclosure, and if you remove the board for any reason, Discharge the HV lead thru a resistor. You will like it, and it will eliminate another project you didn't really want to do anyway. (getting to the board is a small hassel, but worth it once you see the results) Good Luck! |

| Sorry that it took so long to answer you. I have not done much over the winter-my garage is not heated and didn't want to take a chance on damaging something on the Boss in the -10 degree Minnesota weather. I think that I will try it when it warms up a bit and see. The guy that I bought it from said that the mechanic told him that the monitor is good for its age but electronics is not my forte. | still in the process of rertofitting. I am using Mach3 and will be using the Larkin/viper drives. Just not much out there that will drive those big dc servo's and interface directly with Mach3 archie =) =) =) |
