Hey everyone, I Finally got my 10x54 floor mill up and running this past weekend, and I have already found a fiew issues I would like to clear up. I have an Enco 10x54 floor mill that I converted to cnc, I have MCG 1200 inlb servo motors with 250 line encoders, with Geco 320's powered with 55 volts. The X and Y axis is set at a ratio of 3:1, and the Z (powered knee) is 4:1. Topped off with Mach 3. the real main issue is that when the machine is sitting idle or running (doesn't really matter which), the Z axis motor gets hot enough to kick the gecos into fault mode after about an hour or so. Is there any adjustment for this? The other is that my X axis is smooth running.....really smooth....even by hand....and the motor will sometimes....well I guess you could call it "bounce" between the pulses on the encoder. I have adjusted the Mach 3 so that the motor has hardly any ramp up, and down, and that has taken care of most of the problem, but it still does it off and on. I was thinking about getting a higher resolution encoder, and seeing if that makes a difference, but would (obviously) prefer not to, if it won't help. |
