How would you build your Ultimate CNC | |
Okay guys and gals, I have cruised though many apon many of threads. I have a bridgeport mill that I want to make into a CNC mill. Now I have plenty of great ideas that might want to try. So lets say that money is no option. What would you do. Now this is something that I do not want to upgrade later. I want to do it right from the get go.
Now the big questions are:
Servo vs Stepper vs Linear
Make new ball screws or use original
Windows or linux for OS
2,3,or 4 axis.
What motors would you use and where would you get them.
Can you point me to the right threads that some people have done.
Now I work as a fabricator in a job shop. This machine will see some use since we have an extra available. I can do a complete rebuild of the machine if needed. Okay so I am eager to hear your ideas.
