    BP R2E3 S1B8 Z-Axis limit switch

    Hey all,
Got an issue with the r2e3 - machine will not home due to an error of z travel, seems to be stuck at quill up position. i removed front fascia and see the limit knob stuck on the limit switch roller. Is there a way to get it away from the switch or reset it??
Also, does anyone know of a good CAM program to create parts and generate code to feed the machine?? I've used featurecam in the past, but our license has expired and i was looking for alternatives.
    Thanks guys.

This machine as well as the R2E4 and the V2XT have a tendency to quill up and jam the quill up. Usually this is relieved by taking off the Z motor pulley, grabbing the pulley with channel lock pliers and grunting the quill down.
As you stand in front of the machine, your right arm will be at your left shoulder and will move the pliers across your chest to the right. Usually the plate with the screw to hit the axis limit switch bends and needs to be straightened out.
Then you need to figure out why this happened.

Still no go with this machine... I've tried detaching the top limit switch to "deactivate" it, reboot then home and it still errors out and wont let me move any axis. I noticed there is a set screw perpendicular and to the left of the flange+limit switch area and this interacts with a white "knob" or more likely another limit type switch. i have played around with rearranging these items and resetting the machine multiple times and there is no change.
I have not tried to use pliers and physically move that flanged peice that hits the vertical limit because it is 3/8" thick and wont budge!
Is there anything else that can prevent the machine from movement --> as soon as i hit the home tab, the machine makes a clicking on/off noise, something is definately tripping it up.
    Thanks again fella's

    hey all

Im still trying to figure this out, one of the limit switches was cracked in half, so im getting a replacement. as far as "helping" the machine down from its jammed position, could someone maybe highlight the area, or markup the picture i've added for some more guidance. i dont know how to get it out of the stuck position.
    thanks all.

To the left of your pictures is the Z motor with the pulley beneath it. It is this pulley I grab with channel locks. See above reply.
