Bridgeport Serier II Interact 4 (Heidenhain TNC 2500)

Hi all,

I am looking for a software for Bridgeport Serier II Interact 4 (Heidenhain TNC 2500) which used to send the G-Code from the computer to the machine.

Please, give me your attention.

Thank you

go to the heidenhain website and download it there. It should be free.
I used it on my interact 1 about 4 years ago.

My advice to you is trash the orginal control and get yourself a centroid/ajax....You will love it!

I would keep the heidenhain control but use the Conversational Programming.
It is much easier to learn and has some great canned cycles.

yeah, I suppose thousands of dollars, countless hours of work and dodgy service are much more fun than bulleproof reliability and amazing customer service.

Oh yeah, and you can program almost anything on right on the machine

But that's just me.....................

Actually, the Heidenhain is a VERY reliable control. I have had only a couple with issues in my time in field service. There is normal wear and tear. The batteries must be changed and eventually the CRT will need replacing. Product support is there at Heidenhain.

Last weekend I did try sending the tech bulletin about communications and a version of EZUTLS but both were returned.

I dont mean to hijack the thread and hope this is in line....can you give the details on what to use and how to set up a pc to use coversational software with the BP series II (mine is a Heidenhein 151 control) but Im sure the info wil be valuable to all heidenhein users that wish to "update" their interface..Thank You

The controls are intended to be programmed at the control, aside from a few post processors that can output conversational, it is the way it is. Trying to program in a word processor is not worth the trouble, as any misplaced syntax will make the control puke.
As far as transferring the programs out of the control and back in again, free software on heidenhain's website is the best

As I recall the heidenhain certainly could run a posted program. However the programming software needs to spit out a program kinda styled after a coordinate system... xy xy in every line... Basically a very fundamental program plus very basic G & M support as well.
You would need to run software that allows you the ability to edit the post processor. Then play with it until you get it right.
And back to the original thread,, the heidenhain was a pretty cool system. I spent about 2 years with em. But with saying that, you can lose sight of what’s important in the game... Namely G & M programming!

I just purchased the Bridgeport 412 II w/ the TNC 2500 and am not familiar with this control at all. I just have no clue where to start to even install a program on it yet, just got it set up 4 days ago. I would like to drip feed to the machine with a pc or laptop using one of my cad/cam programs, I am thinking it would be faster for me. Maybe just my ignorance though. Just need some insight on how to setup to this machine to drip feed to. Thanks and happy holidays.

Featurecam's post processors for G code and Heidenhain conversational work very well with my TNC151B
