I've got a bridgeport clone that needs to be fixed urgently here at work. Basically, the original cord got ripped out. So, I have a new cord and installed the 3ph plug onto this new cord. Now hooking up the wires to the actual terminals concerns me. I have 3 phases: xyz, and ground of course. Well on the actual mill, where there's the terminal, I have a "1, 2, 3, g" So does "x" correlate to "1", etc.? Does the order of which I hook up the wires actually make a difference? As long as ground is ground. I know for another machine I wired up here, it made no difference as long as the ground wire was on the ground terminal. Thankyou! |

| As long as you hook up the ground properly, it should run. You will have a 50-50 chance of it running the correct direction. If it runs backwards, just swap any two wires (that is any of the power leads NOT GROUND) to reverse direction. x to 1 y to 2 z to 3 ground to ground If this runs backwards, try; x to 2 y to 1 z to 3 ground to ground all of this assumes the motor ran in this location before and the voltage is correct. |
