EZ-Trak DX strange wiring problem solved

Disclaimer: I got this machine used so wiring changes may have been made so this may not pertain to any or all machines.

After I unload my new/used machine and quickly wire it up, like a small child I can’t keep my paws off the buttons and knobs. So I turn the Flood/Mist switch and “poof” the machine shuts down like the E button was pushed. Turning to the manual wiring diagrams I locate the fuses and discover both 7 and 8 are blown. After two days of tracing wires and a small pile of blown fuses I discover what I think is the problem. Someone must have replaced the duplex receptacle on the side of the machine. This is the 120v one that says work light and coolant. Notice the two different words. It turns out when the duplex receptacle was replaced the bonding strip between the two receptacles was not cut so when the switch was turned it shorted between the two receptacles. I doubt anyone will run into this but it might be something to file away in the back of the brain if replacing this receptacle or having this brain twister show up sometime.

Don't you just love how sloppy some "technicians" can be????

Hopefully the idiot who did that didn't take all the wire tag numbers off the wires that BPT put on when they built it. This makes tracing wires much much easier.

The thing I kept thinking about was the machinist that always ran this machine. My goodness he must had to have a CNC arm not to have accidentally turned that switch instead of the spindle switch at times.
