new member having issues

I have a Bridgeport BTC 1 CNC mill. I have been trying to hook up my Haas 5C indexer using the M53/M54 controls through the auxilary function control using the input plug below my tool indexer located on the cabinet. but I cannot for the life of me figure out why the relays wont trip when i use the programming codes.

I think I traced the problem to the ZDI board but I have not been able to get a copy of some readable schematics/electronics diagrams, all I have are the crappy ones in the manual that I cannot read.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks

-Fred

To effect this repair, you need to place the machine manual on the table of the machine, surround the machine with various pieces of scrap pallet wood and old shop rags. Dowse liberally with way oil or other petroleum distillates, light. Repeat until machine is in proper operating condition or the fire dept comes

No?

Are the schematics illegible in an original manual or do you have a copy? I have never looked at mine, but will scan them if they are clearer

Thumbs up

Thats pretty funny.

doesn't a Haas indexer cost like $7k? Seems like an odd union.
Oh. sorry I don't have any Ideas, just a comment.

Good luck!

we have schematics for all the other boards in the machine, but the ZDI board does not have a large size schematic only what the manual came with and it is not readable at all.

I will look but it is doubtful. I have a BOSS 6 book with a ZDI. It may be better. The only problem I ever had with a ZDI are the opto-coupler outputs to the axis.

My real issue is the M53/M54 codes work on my ZDI board, I get a readout for voltage when i do M53 then it turns off when i enter M54. I cannot for the life of me figure out why it doesn't actually activate the external component. I think there may be a broken wire somewhere and that does not bode well for the contract that I am working on.

Any input is well appreciated.

One more thing, I was wondering if any of you know where to get your hands on a Texas Instruments TIL127 optocoupler since they are now obsolete.

Need email address. I scanned the ZDI prints from a BOSS 6. They may be more legible but are 520KB thus exceeding what I can attach here.

No real knowledge, but if it gives you ouput on the board, would not the next step be to look at the relay? I mean, you need a real relay to switch the 24v to trigger the indexer, Iwould think.......

Ya we checked all the relays and they all work correctly.
