Moving a series 1 interact with a pickup?

Anyone ever try this? Or maybe a car trailer? I have access to a series 1 with th eheidenhein control for the right price, but now I need to move it. I have an engine hoist and it can lift 2 tons. The mill is supposed to weigh less. Any thoughts?
thank you,
Cutmore

re

YOu need to be able to strap it down adequately. It is not too heavy, but is top heavy, as are all mills.
A car trailer is better since it is lower.

I doubt a hoist will lift high enough to do you much good.

No dragging or pushing on inclines.

Is a forklift anywhere in the vicinity of the machine?

I would call around for riggers. Not all riggers are sky high.

I just picked my V2E3 appart with a hoist and I would not try picking it up in 1 piece with it..hehe

If you had the time you could separate it into pieces as I did with the hoist and cart it off 1 piece at a time then reassemble with hoist.

Kinda a pain but really only takes a few hours (if your me..hehe)

After doing it I felt a little like an idiot for paying the riggers to bring it the 11 miles to my office so I could dissassemble it slow. I could have had it out of the place by the dead line on my own piece by piece..hehe..

I was thinking of pulling the whole top ram off with the hoist, then moving it & the base separately. The least expensive rigger is $75/hr that I have found.

yep a big hoist should be able to pick it appart. You will need some hooks and chain though (see pics in my thread)..

I took mine in several pieces. Spindle-head-motor, turret, Table and knee, base, cnc cabinets.

Only suckey part is having to cart the hoist back and forth each time so you have something to get the machine back out with..hehe

Give them some entertainment and move it your self. I think a standard S1 would be easier to move then my S2 V2E3 was all the servos and controller, drip tray and such added several trips and complexity for dissassembly...hehe

I purchased a BP series II Interact 4 last fall, wt 3 ton. Loaded on a flat bed trailer and then contacted the local concrete block company and they picked off the tailer for $50.00. Can't beat that with a stick.
