Questions regarding BP w, Tnc150

Hi.

We recently bought a Bridgeport Interact 4 cnc mill. With the Heidenhain Tnc 150 software.

Is there any chance to replace the 150 for a newer version? As the tnc 151 or even better? Any software with FK-programming and simulation will do just fine. Is there anything else we need to change if this could be done? Like the servo motors etc..

One more thing. Does any of you know if the text ( font ) size in the 150 can be changed? Can we set the size smaller?

With enough time and money....I don't know how much trouble it would be. The 151 might pop in, but after that they get much different

Most people I speak to now avoid heidenhein when purchasing new machines because theyre so damned expensive. A heidenhein can add as much as £5k extra to a machine compared with seimens/fanuc.

If you have the time and the money i'd be tempted to ditch the heidenain and go PC Based running Mach 3

Ummm, yeah, except that it isn't true. Heidenhains don't charge extra for all the things that fanuc does. If you load a fanuc with the 'options' that come standard on the heidenhain, it will cost thousands more.

I daresay you would be thousands ahead had you kept your machine intact, not counting labor even

Ok thanks for the quick answer! Thing is that we just like the machine to run, and hopefully don´t cost us too much money! Just wanted to check if there was a way to upgrade the software! And how much work it would be!
