| I have literly screwed up the parameters in this machine. I have a parameter listing that came with it, but it must be for a different machine. We are not using the fourth axis. I loaded up the parameters as on the lists; someone added changes in ink, to the list numbers I thought was updated on this control. I saw several parameters that weren't the same and of course didn't write them down, shame on me. The maching has not been run in 1 1/2 years and I thought the parameters were scrambled. So I changed them to what was on the sheet. Now I get a 'B encoder feedback irregular A' and it hangs the control with tons of lists undernieth it. I think somehow I activated the fourth 'A' axis which is not connected. So getting a fault from it. What I would like is a list of parameters from a working machine that is not using the fourth axis. So I can see what is different. Or does anyone have a parameter listing book that tells what these parameters actually do. Then I could figure out where I went wrong. I will share what info I have, if I could get it. the machine is presently down. I also noticed that the periods all are comma's in the parameter list. Does this mean there are other issues? The batteries were dead. How do I recover? Everytime I press a period I get a comma displayed. As to the question about the spindle drive not running, I changed out the drive to a ten horsepower Baldor AC drive, the machine when it runs, runs beautifully. I have the prints on what to do if you are interested. I inverted the AC motor so it was sitting up from the spindle mount, not in the column, as the original DC motor was sitting. There wouldn't have been room for a 10HP motor there. If anyone could get me a list of the correct parameters for this machine I would greatly appreciate it. | Please remember that there were many revisions to the 2500 control. The original release was version 3, the last released by Bridgeport was version 12. Each had a different parameter list. The control version was changed by replacing PROMs in the control. George

| I believe my error is because of it thinking a fourth axis was to be connected. I wish I knew what all the parameters really stood for, for then I could figure it all out myself from scratch. But what you gave me should help I hope. Any chance you know why I get a comma instead of a period when I press the period key on the keyboard when I change parameters? Do I have to reset something? Thanks John Last edited by JohnPW; 05-10-2007 at 07:31 PM. Reason: added to it |

| The comma is default. It can be changed to a period. On the older controls certain canned cycles would not work with a period. I am not sure about the 2500. George

Hopefully I will be able to get my machine running again. Thanks to everyone that have supplied all the information here. This web site is awsome. I'm glad I found it. I had a call in to Bridgport service department, and it has been three days and have yet to hear from them. I assume no one is there anymore that knows these machines. This forum had answered the questions I had, and it is definately more responsive than the manufacturer. Again, Thank you everyone. John |
