I want to drip feed Heidenhain. I am able to receive the program from my heidenhain control which is attached. The problem here is when i try to drip feed this program back to the machine it giives error "program format incorrect". The problem i think here is with the End of Block character i.e * . It is visible at the end of every block on machine monitor but the program received does not have this * at the end of any block. Is there any problem with the machine parameter for end of block character. |

I am unfamiliar with the format for g code programs, but my first guess is ascii setup. You need to spec how many cr and lf are used somewhere, odds are you have an extra one or are short one. somewhere there is ascii setup in your transfer program Other than that, if it faols to send even one line, is hte first character and that stuff correct? |

| Servo, Don't know if you got an answer yet, but I looked in my Heidenhain book and here's what I found concerning data transfer. Why the program codes exceed the memory of the controller you can send data in the "Tansfer blockwise" mode. You start the transfer of data from the external storage in "single block" and "Full sequence" modes by pressing the EXT with the diamond around it. The TNC loads the program blocks in available memory and interrupts data transfer when memory capacity is reached. No program blocks are displayed on the screen until available memory is full or the program has been completely transfered. Although program blocks are not displayed, program execution can be started by pressing the external start button.. hope this helps. Ben |
