Question Boss 5 Conversion Has A Transformer And Vfd ???

I am in the middle of the conversion on my Boss 5 and have decided to use a KEB inverter drive with the stock motor to power my spindle. My drive will accept single phase input which would allow me to run without a phase converter. My question is-is there any way to wire my three phase main power (60V) on single phase power other than just using only 2 legs. I suspect there is a simnple solution but I just haven't had the "vision" yet. Also while we are on this subject; Do I scrap the whole vriable speed pulley and and belt assy? Or use it and set it to a cetain spot and "lock" it in? I assume that I will want to keep my high and lo range in any case. Looking for any and all opinions. Thanks in advance.

I VFD'd my series II. My belt and pulley and speed change all worked so I just run my VFD at 60 Hz and vary the speed with the original speed change. You just need to put 24 VDC to the speed change switch and find the wires for your soliod valves. What is: three phase main power (60V)?

What are you using the VFD for? I am talking about the Main power transformer (60V). And a series 1 doesn't have solenoids for "speed change" it has a lever.

Yes there is a simple solution. Mach 3, a breakout board, gecko drives and a new power supply.
I was not aware on how SI change speed, just giving you an example on how I did mine.

I am doing Mach, Gecko's, and an NCPod. I would like to use PWM out of the pod to control speed through my new Inverter. I am constructing a new power supply, using my old (60V) 3 Phase main transformer. I am ditching the saturable reactors and running unregulated. This should fall withing the Gecko ripple allowance. I would be ok to run on 2 pahase of transformer but would like to wire all 3 some how. Is that clearer?
