    DX-32 freezing in edit mode?!?!?

I have had a problem since owning this machine (torq-cut 22).

anytime i exit automatic mode, then try and go directly to edit mode the control will return
to the previous screen and freeze up. this causes me to have to reset the control, restart the drives
    and re-home.

does anybody else have this problem? is it common?

if i scroll through the list of programs and select the one i want to edit it
    rarely does it.

But if the program i am trying to edit is the one i was just running then it already appears
at the top in the address bar, if i hit enter while the program in the address bar is highlighted
without instead selecting it from the list of programs it will freeze every time.

not a huge problem but frustration when im in a hurry.

Sounds like corrupted software. You may need to reformat the hard drive or flash media and reload DOS and the machine software. Do not forget to back up all your parameters and the leadcomp data file if the machine has one.

Thats what i was afraid of. i have the original disk for reloading but its a floppy, so who knows if it still works. I wonder how available the software is should the disk be corrupted.

Some of the DX-32 based VMC"s have a program included with them that will automatically create a back-up install disk.

The program is/was called "MAKEDISK" and it is a batch file as I recall. It was loaded automaticaly when the original install disk was run. If you have this program on your system and run it, it should create a reload disk for you in your A drive.

This problem is a VERY good reason why it is a good idea to backup your install disks to CDROM. I"ve yet to see a well/properly burned CD go bad but I've sure had some floppy's go bad from just sitting.
