BP series 1 Trak CNC2 software?

    I have a BP series 1 with a TRAK CNC2 3 axis control.

Can anyone tell me were to get the off line programming software ?
And if it requires a special cable to the RS232 port?

    Thanks John

    Bridgeport Control

    John,

The control you mentioned does not sound familiar. Is it possible that is a Boss control or maybe Ez Trak?

What does it state upon booting....or manual?

Cabling is not off the shelf and you can make it; see other Bridgeport posts.
If you want to buy, we sell them for almost of the Bridgeport Controls.

You are looking for EZSPS which was software sold by Bridgeport that loaded to a PC or a DX32 control and was conversational just like the EZTRAK. It could post either a EZTRAK program (.pgm) or a G & M code program (.txt).
There was also a lathe version.

When it starts or boots it just states program.
From that point I can use it in a manual mode with power feed & DRO or start typing in on the console for the conversational programing.
I have a reprint of a programming and operating manual but the info about the software is almost nothing?

It is made by Southwestern Industries, and while they still support the Trak CNC 2 they do not sell the software.

    Thanks John

Bridgeport did sell a EZTRAK and EZTRAK PLUS in the early 1990s with the Southwestern control. It did not have a CRT (monitor). That software was burned onto PROMS in the control. Thus the EZTRAK could be upgraded to a EZTRAK PLUS by changing the front of the control and replacing the PROMS.
The EZSPS software was dedicated to the newer controls made by Bridgeport. The ones with the CRT.

Perhaps Hardinge? I might be able to dig up an old Bridgeport part number for it.

Mine does not have a monitor just a rs232 port.

Do you know if any of the upgrades you mentioned are still available?

Bridgeport stopped supporting that control a long time ago. You would have to go to Southwestern to see what is still available.

Thank you for the info Machintek.
I have already talked to southwest & I just want to say they seem to be the most unhelpful comp. that I have ever talked to for any type of support.
They do still support the hardware but not the software.
Is there any place on the net that is like a Bridgeport salvage yard?

    Thanks John

Unknown graveyard. Keep checking Ebay. I doubt if even EMI would bother with this control.
