Boss 8 Problems

I need some help, I recently bought a Bridgeport Boss 8 R2E3 I don't know how to program it. the manual does not give very clear directions, right now I can't set the part offset so when I load thru smart cam and start the program the table goes to its limits Anbody know where I can get a manual that will take me step by step thru the control the one from the machine is useless

i have a boss 8 and still cant get it running got for my sencond op department it was praclicly gave to me got all running and someone tried something and now it has more problems and from what i under stand the boss "all of them have problems" the manual i have was copied off and gave to me try googling bridgeport machines division of textron inc, that is what is on the front of my manual

Do you have the panel at the top center of the machine? If so, look in the manual(s) for details about the load,clear, edit key. Also look at the section about setting the clear point, reference point and the part X0,Y0. There is a defined sequence for setting these. Use the clear all, machine key which should clear all of the data you have tried to upload then use G0,x0y0 to send the machine home. I have also found out that the machine will recognize a M30 code which will home Z, shut off the spindle and coolant, and rapid the table to the clear point (possibly a tool change position or part change position depending on what you want.) I use M30 instead of M02 at the end of my programs. Works for me!

i use ezlink to dump programs from the notebook to the machine . if you would like i can tell you how i do it at least. maybe it will help . i have most of the books for the machine. what books on this machine do you have maybe we ca swap just let me know.
