Drawbar for BOSS 5

I have Two Boss 5 machines with Erickson QC 30 tooling, I would like to add a drawbar to these machines instead of using the Quick Change Nut. Can this be done? I looked at the spindle and it does not seem like there is a hole all the way through the spindle? Is there a plug in the spindle or would I have to machine a hole all the way through? Any help would be much appreciated.

not positive but I think the splined shaft that runs inside the hollow ballscrew is solid.

My understanding is that some QC30 spindles are hollow, some are not, and you can tell the difference right away when you look down through the top of the head (without disassembling anything).

I was thinking of getting a local experienced machinist to cut a hole for me, perhaps gun drill? If you undertake something similar, let me know how it turns out. I'll do the same, of course.
