The 145 is ok.Bit short on memory and I think can only hold 999/1000 lines/blocks? of code in one programme.You can only have one programme number as well.The 1000 lines go quite a long way as this control is what I call an event type. i.e. if you want to machine straight lines you push a button and enter the positions,feedrate and speed,to mill a curve do the same with a different button.I`ve simplified it a bit but it is easy.To overcome the one program difficulty what you do is,imagine your first programme stops on line 30,start writing new programme at line 31.If you are new to programming you will find Heidenhain easy,if you are used to G code you will find it more difficult to comprehend.
The 150 control has more memory and the 151 can be programmed conversational or g code with the overlay Andrew mentions.
If you look at a thread on tnc2500 parameters on this forum you will see a post I put up with directions for downloading Heidenhain manuals.You would click on 100 series rather than 200.
