BTC ATC question

I would like to know why there are two air inlets in to the pan-cake cylinder on top?
Here is what I know, when I apply air to the top inlet the center pin in the picture below comes out. If I apply ait to the lower inlet the outer ring and center pin comes down together. What is that for? Do they both need to have air applied to them together?

Spindle locking fork is simple, just put air to it and it comes out and locks the spindle from going down when the ATC cylinder pushes the draw bar.

Thanks

The drawbar in this machine is some kind of double lock setup, the fingers that grip the stud are released by the out side ring pushing on the draw bar but fingers will not grip until the center drawdar is released. It has two separate drawbars inside the spindle and the spindle is almost 4 feet long! with triple stack A//C bearings. To remove the tool only the center needs to be pushed and the tool falls out. This is going to be fun getting Mach to work it.

Kevin,

I did call the guy he has tool holders and he wants $50 each, but regular CAT40 will work in the spindle just need to cut the lenght of the tapped a little at the stud end.
