    Acu-rite Millpwr

Does anyone know what assertion failed (software failure) means? I booted up my 3 axis yesterday and got that message. I was using version 3.1.1.
On Friday I contacted Acu-rite about upgrading the software. I was e-mailed the latest version. I was hoping maybe this would help me with this problem. Today I just finished loading it, and as the machine was finding home, I now get X axis FTO's not detected. At least from this screen I can still use the DROs. Since I purchased this control, it has been problematic. It has been back to the shop a number of times without a permanent fix.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With the help of customer support, it now seems to be a bad reader on the X axis. $350.00 for what looks like a piece of cable with a plastic connection. Ouch!
