R2E3 pre purchase euphoria

Hi I'm nick and new to cnc equip, but am an old school machinist. I have found a 1983 r2e3 boss 8-- or 81-811. has been idle for 16 years.

the shop where its at has been ignoring it, not thinking of selling it, untill I suggested it. the owner said ok but I want 2,500- 3000.00$ for it.

questions I have.
#1 Ive been reading about batteries and losing parameter; is this something
that may evidence itself when I them start it up for me?

#2 Is the machines' MDI good enough for onesy twosy parts?

#3 can I run this machine from computer based firmware

#4 Is this machine worth the money-- say there really is only 2000 hours ?
