| I am trying to connect a friends 2 axis Bridgeport miller to a PC to upload and download programs via RS232 I have an old PC running MSDOS3 and suitable cables The miller has red LED rather than crystal display, EPROM rather than disk, and is a Singapore made machine supported via the USA, no support in UK Question What version of EZfile/EZlink do I need? Will the up/down load of programs work just as well by using DOS piped TYPE commands on the PC? |

| I don't want to be too confident however I had the same problem with my G2G4 Series I. Then I ran accross Machine Link from controlinksystems.com, $200 program with a 45 day trial and download on-line. I didn't know so I e-mailed and asked questions. This was 10am yesterday, Monday 9-11-06 got a call from a guy that said "he has never been stumped on the older machines" I downloaded and was talking with the machine from Windows XP by 5pm that day. That included making a cable, 4 hours of classes and other jobs I was doing. I'm going to buy it and not worry about all that old computer and old program stuff. I am looking for someone to help me identify the different sets of axis on this machine. Try it. Lee |
