UPDATE bump.
The runout that KARLDEN seaks of is/was addressed via the Bridgeport method of selectively fit bearings. BPT actually ORDERED special made bearings that had high inner race to bore runout. THis way they could find/make the high points of eccentricity via musical chairs with bearings they select fit the bearings to the shaft to "remove" the eccentricity.
IF they hit the mark, they shipped the part. Whoa be tie the poor SOB who had to rebuild the part. THis is why you had to tell BPT the codes off the bearings in your machine to get a replacement. THis worked when BPT and Farnir were under the came corporate structure. WHen that broke up, things changed as hardly/nobody else would make such intentionally "deficient" bearings.
THe easiest fix is to install precision bearing, then regrind the spindle taper when assy is complete. YOu can take an even easier task but you'd better talk to KARIDEN, post 12, to see how satisfied he is with regard to someone's failure to regrind his spindle after "rebuilding the spindle with new bearings".
As always, the reader is free ot follow or ignore any recommendastinos i post. |
