| We have not used the Boss 6 for a while, possibly 4 wks or more. This morning when I switched it on all seemed fine until I went to move it in the X axis, it moved then stopped in all three axis. I have shut the machine off, then started it again but the same happens, it will move for a few seconds in any axis then stop. I have checked the transistors on the X,Y,Z axis and they are all fine. I have tried the reset/clear switch, checked all the fuses, and the level in the lubrication bowl all seem OK. Could it be the control panel ?? Any Idea's Dave |

| Any LEDs lighting up? Like GOTO or ERR? Logic supply OK? Are display numbers moving (reflecting where the axis should be)? George

| Hello George, Yes all the LED's on on and there is no GOTO or ERR showing. I can't get the axis to move at all today. I'm going to check the transistors on all three axis again today, just in case I missed something. Thank you for you help. |

| I've now checked the transistors again in all three axis, there are no faults. The display numbers did move when the axis moved. I don't know how to check the logic supply. Is this when you use the reset / clear switch Dave Last edited by DaveinUK; 07-07-2006 at 07:51 AM. |

| If the numbers are moving then the logics are OK and your problem is in the drive section. If all 3 are dead then the common areas are the 54V power supply, the ACC board (even though there are 3 distinct sections to it), and the ZDI (but again 3 opto-couplers out for each axis) which sends the commands to the SMD boards. May be that 54V power supply. There is a trouble shooting section in the maintenance manual with step by step where to find each voltage. George

| Hello Darek, I can't get any of the axis to move today. The control panel seems OK all LEDs on with no error messages. I have asked, how to check the 56V power supply. Dave Last edited by DaveinUK; 07-12-2006 at 07:58 AM. |

| I believe there is a fuse on the left side of the terminal strip where fuses 12, 13, and 14 are. I do not remember if it protects the AC or DC side. I am on vacation (holiday on that side of the pond) and do not have that data with me. The maintenance manual should tell you. George
