My machine has been acting funny lately...2 days ago I entered a cuttercomp into a program, and deleted it out after I decided to use a different method. Now when I try to start the program...using 5;start;0;*;start sometimes I get a error message...no explanation to the error, or it will give me a "you must have spindle on" message when the spindle is already on and I have already ran the program. I'm sure there will be some questions about this, so I will check back regularly... any help will be appreciated Brad |

| It may be a coincidence. There are auxiliary contacts on the spindle contactor that tells the control that the spindle is on. There may be dirty contacts there or a loose wire, etc. George

| It may be also that it sees a tool change. It will stop for that as well. Example: You have a one tool program. Even though it is the same program and tool, each time you start it up, it will do a tool change to look at the TLO and it will stop. Try running the program in single block. Remember that when cutter comp is turned on it will look ahead. that is why you need so many lines between comp on and off or else it sees comp off and never turns it on. George

| I don't have a tool change in the program, I was curious about the spindle contacts, I followed the wire back to the cabinet, and from there I am lost as to where the wires go...Is there a diagram of the components in the cabinet...ie; where all the contacts and cards are located? I'm sure I'll have quite a few questions... I'm glad I joined this forum, from reading past posts, everyone seems to be a great help always appreciated, Brad |

| There are many versions of what is inside a EZTRAK electrical cabinet. On the right lower side of the schematic I am looking at, it shows SPINDLE ON, with 2 sets of contacts MF and MR, wires 33 and 34 going to the AUXBOB board, connector JP9 pins 3 and 8. This board is a pin out board for the BMDC. Cutter comp stays on untill it sees COMP OFF. A reset clears it as well. George

| I think that may have just been the problem George, or me unplugging the machine and taking an air hose to the cabinet may have done the trick...either way...It isn't giving me "start spindle to enable program" errors anymore... Greatly Appreciative, Brad |
