i have a 3 asix ez trak , started up this morning and z any y axis homed just fine but x axis tries to home in the wrong direction . when i bypass the home procedure , i can still jog all 3 axis but they wont rapid . thanks in advance |

| The switch is stuck or broken or a wire is broken. If the machine sees that switch open, it will move off the switch untill it closes, then it reverses direction to go back onto the switch. If the switch never changes state, it just keeps moving away, in the wrong direction. George

| It does not have limit switches. Only home switches. Cannot be bypassed. George

| Got the same problem on my Series II Eztrac. On pressing Start to home axis the Y axis moves away from the home switch until at the end of travel it trips the motor out. If I depress the switch it stops and takes that position as "Home". The machine works fine after doing this but of course the Y axis travel is shortened [but the control does not know this] This problem occured about 6 months ago but I came in the next day and it had cured itself. I assumed it was coolant in the switch. I've taken the switch off , blown it out and checked the connections are tight but no better. Any help very welcome. |
