Bridgport 300 CNC spindle drive problems | | Hello All,
I've lurked on CNC Zone off & on for quite a while. I'm now coming to you all, Hat it hand, to ask assistance with my problem.
about two years ago I purchased a BP 300 with a dead spindle drive from a Small shop up north. they were real honest about the machine and generous as could be. The orginal inverter drive is no longer made and high as hell in cost anyway. I've purchased two used inverter drives and had no problem wiring either of them in to the point that I can run the drive spindle from the inverter key controls.
BUT, and I mean a BIG BUT, I have beat my head against the machine trying to correctly interface the drive with the Bridgeport PC control. I've tired logic, guessing, etc. and am looking for specific instructions and/or low cost help (the machine is in my Hobby shop". In general, I get a spindle drive fault on the PC screen no matter what I've tried and am unable to read RPM, or in anyway control the drive through the machine controller. I don't seem to be able to get into the BP diagnostic program beyong the first page to look at the parameters, not to mention change anything........ It asks me for a BPBM or something like that.
the machine has Boss15 and a XT controller board I think. I'm being sketchy about specifics (am brain dead after six hours of working on it today). but will post all of the correct information if anyone out there can help me with this problem. I just wired a SECO inverter drive in today, guessed at the many small wire connections and am where I was with the other drive.
Thanks in Advance
