hope this is the right place... I need to find the wiring diagram/schematic for the acu-rite encoder on a EZ-Trak Plus CNC mill #15722 I haven't used the mill at all, and haven't actually even seen it, but I've got a cable from it that needs to be repaired. A few of the lines from the cable were broken off right on at the circuit board of the encoder. I have the manual but it only shows the connector side and not the encoder side. It is a mini-scale encoder with a 6 pin male round connector. Since multiple lines were broken before I got the encoder I was not able to keep track of where they were before. I think I've got a pretty good idea where most of the lines go but I would like to make sure to not break anything by using the trial and error method. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. |

| There is more than one encoder on that machine. You could look into the connections from the one that is not damaged. As you have found, most schematics may show the cannon plug, but nothing at the encoder itself. DC edit: One thing I should add is that both encoders may not have the same connections as to the A and B signals. I don't know off hand if they use A(not) and B(not) lines. I doubt it since the plugs often only use a few of the pins. The schematic should show them if they are used. I don't think the Plus systems had homing marker pulses or homing switches either for that matter. So you should't need to worry about that line. The issue with the A and B lines possibly being reversed from one axis compared to the other is to set the proper +/- count direction respectively. That would be verifiable at the cannon plug if the wire colors verses pin position were a bit different, but I'd expect the connections to the reader head board to be the same.
