bridgeport question

have access to a mid 80's bridgeport with allen bradley controls
3 axis series 9 cnc control and in nice shape. what are the downfalls of purchasing this machine? opinions on this machine? thanks

If the price is right there are no downfall unless you try to cut at a high feed your rpm are limited

Tis machine is very rare. I know a bit about Bridgeports but know nothing about this one. I have only seen pictures. I wonder how much help or support you will find for this machine. Find out efore you buy.

Or if the Iron is good and the price is right consider retro fitting to modern PC controls.

Allen Bradley controls are very good controllers and it a company that’s still in business if you have any question on the controller give them a call

You have to have an account set up with AB and you have to pay for technical service - placing a call will likely be disappointing. Something to consider.
