It display's programe line by line till end blockM02 CtrlZ to exit edit switch control to auto power enable/restart/startcont. and no repeat program I can do MDI store and repeat ok,programe is displayed but without line #'s and a ? * between lines manual say'a ? indicates a sintax err. Im wrighting the G cone as follows N15 G1X1.25Y3.25F35 . I know this seem's to be a primitive way to do cnc but most of my part's could be done this way I must be missing a key stroke or a comand to get the file to load into the memory. anybody's input would be apreciated Thank's Kevin P.S. would like to start a BTC blog to trade info, tooling, tip's ect.

Kevin,
It sound like the BOSS system is not prepared to recieve the NC code. If you have succesfully communicated with the BOSS system and see the prompt "BOSS 7.2
>EDIT" Then you are almost there. Then to ready the BOSS to recieve the NC code
you must hold the Ctrl key and press CAPITAL "Q". Then you should see the prompt " X ON" Now from hyperterminal top menu select TRANSFER> then SEND TEXT FILE> then select the text NC code file to send. You will see it echoed across the screen and stop at the end of file (M02 or M30) Now to veryify the code is in the BOSS memory press ENTER a couple of times the a CAPITAL "L", you should see the program scrolled across the screen. Now to exit the editor hold Ctrl key down and press CAPITAL "Z".
Call me Saturday if you are still having trouble.

Stephen

I am doing the same with a boss5. I had to go in HyperTerminal, properties and set a 1 to 2 mill sec. pause between lines and characters. I was transferring the first line ok then the dam? Also there is the baud rate thing but if you are getting the "BOSS X INPUT or BOSS X EDIT you must be close or right on. As Stephen stated make sure you have the caps locked. When I hit edit and get the BOSS prompt I hit "I" enter, this puts the mill in input mode. You should be able to see each line of code echoed back to the PC as the mill receives it. Then "L" enter to list it back. You can also edit the code stored in the mill from the PC it’s not very fun. Controle "Z" then run the mill.
Since mi mill is a BOSS 5 things may differ.
Hope this helps.
Stephen
