At school we have a tapmatic 50x tapping attachment that has never been used. I can use it, but i have no idea how. This will be to tap many holes into my 24x40 aluminum router table. Thinking of making a 2" or 3" grid. Regardless, thats a huge amount of tapping! So i would much prefer to use the attachment. Can somebody give me some guidelines? |

| As a general rule the body of the tapping attachment is mounted in some way to prevent rotation while allowing up and down motion. It is usually mounted in a drill press. In the interior are cone clutches. Push down into the work and it will feed a tap. Pull up and the direction of the tap will reverse as well as speed up to allow quicker tap removal from the work.
