    Bridgeport Interact II No Display

I went to fire up my Bridgeport and there was no display output.
The panel lit up with all the usual red lights.
Nothing appeared to be happening so I went through my usual routine of hitting the CE button even thought I couldn't see the screen.
I hit the CE button then the large yellow button. I heard a click and all the panel lights went out. In my normal routine I would hit the green button to home the axis. So even though I had no display I pressed the green button and the z axis moved. Usually it moves down a little ways then back up.
This time the z axis just kept moving down and I had to hit the emergency stop button.
I checked my manual and it said adjust the bright and contrast knobs, also check the VDU cable. It also said check for 110V between 8 and 9.
I did all of the above and the display still didn't come on.
I would believe that the display was bad except for the z axis going out of control.
So with that long winded explantation of the problem I am having, has anyone ever had this problem and a solution?

Edit: New problem. I still don't have any output on the monitor and I'm troubleshooting that but a new problem has popped up.
Even though the monitor does not come on I was able to turn on the main power, hit the CE button then press the yellow button and energize the relay, then try to home the machine.
Well, now when pressing the yellow button the relay does not engage.
    All fuses are good.

I ended up buying a different monitor and CPU for this machine.
