Just purchased a 1994 bridgeport 760-22 with DX-32 controller.
Machine sat for 6 months unplugged, just got power feed to hook it up, first time using this machine
when booting up machine says
HDD CONTROLLER failure
Press F1 to resume.
When pressing F1 it says drive not ready
insert boot disk into A and press any key when ready.
We dont have the boot disk, not sure if we are missing that or if this is a software issue.
checked all power & ribbon cables plugged into hard drive and all seems to check out.
Any help would be appreciated.

Had the same problem. Sounds like the hard drive. The computer is most likely a 386. It is in ours. Went to a local computer shop with the old drive and found an old used one that worked for $10.00. The shop got the data off of the old drive and installed it on the replacement. Over a year with no problems.
Possible your CMOS battery is dead and lost all your CMOS settings
Now it doesnt know your hard drive parameters.
hopefully your hard drive is still fine and you can just replace the battery on your motherboard and auto detect your harddrive or reset the parameters.
if you need a motherboard pm me I have a couple.
Good luck
on boot up press , DEL or F1 to boot into the bios
then save and exit
if your system comes up you have a bad cmos battery
