Heidenhain 151 - Minimum and Maximum Arcs

    Hello all,

I have a Bridgeport Interact w/ a Heidenhain 151B. I have been massaging my post-processor and find that the Heidenhain has a maximum and minimum arc radius and/or length that it can handle / calculate / interpolate.

Does anyone know the actual values for maximum and minimum arc radius or arc length for a Heidenhain 151?

Specifics: I am using CamBam. It has a field, in the post processor, saying "Maximum Arc Radius" ... the default was 1000000 (both inches and mm). I had some errors when using such a large number on G02 and G03 moves and changed this value to 1000.

It has another field saying "Minimum Arc Length" with a default setting of 0.001 (again, both inches and mm). Just this weekend, I had problems with very small arcs and changed this value to 0.005 (I was working in inches). Thus all tiny arcs went away and solved my problem.

So, though these values (1000 maximum arc radius and 0.005 minimum arc length) is working for me, I am interested to know real maximums and minimums for the Heidenhain.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

It has to do with the entry value at the machine. Walk over and try to enter an input, when you run out of digits you know the maximum. minimum is number of places to the right of the decimal. metric and inch frequently vary[ie there is no .0001mm]
