The 760-16 has a tool changer where it moves forward by a air cylinder.
Thy using a 800-22 and just change the travel parameters to that of your 760.

Hey I am trying to put a new hard drive in my bridgeport vmc 760/22. It has a dx 32 controller. I have the original vmc software and backup disc, but when I go to install the software I run into some trouble. After running the install it tells me on the screen that this program is for a list of machines, one of which is my machine. But in the next screen when it tells me to select what machine I have my machine is not listed as one of the selections. It has a 760/16, which I tried the first time, but when I put the hard drive in my machine and tried to home my the axis I kept getting a tool arm timeout alarm. So does anyone know if this is directly because the disk I have does not have the selection for my machine, even though it says it does. Also if this is the problem would anyone know where to get the software, like if a dealer would still have the file?

Now I am getting an error when it loads the vmc program, that says incorrect param file... version 3.200 required. This error also came up when I tried the software for the 760/16, but I got it to go away after going through some backup disks made by the guy who had the machine before me and installing the back up disks. Is this some sort of dos error or is it with the vmc software? I have been looking all over the web and I can't find any answers.
Certain versions of software require certain versions of the BMDCPRMS.SYS which are the parameters for the machine.
What I did just yesterday was to load software (newest version from EMI) and generate a generic parameter file. Then from a back up disk I copied individual parameters such as tool orient position, tool change height, travel limits, backlash, pitch error, spindle gain, etc.
Machine is working.
